Bredbo mapped out

05 Nov, 2009 09:45 AM
The Bredbo Village Brochure has come together after the organisers spent 18 months researching Bredbo’s history.

The brochure was created by the Bredbo Community Progress Association as a way of promoting what the small town has to offer.

Local artist Sandra Robinson has used historic photos to create drawings of the area, which have been included in the brochure.

Bredbo Community Progress Association president Louise Bowerman said Bredbo had a lot to offer especially when it came to eateries.

“We are spoiled for choice and I think we have some of the best places to eat and stay in NSW,” she said.

Mrs Bowerman said the brochure first started off as a walking tour of Bredbo but developed into a brochure once they researched its rich history.

“We have included a street directory which has a history of how the streets received their names and I think it is important to have this information down in writing before it is lost,” she said.

The group is looking forward to launching the village brochure ‘Putting Bredbo on the Map’ on Saturday November 14 at 3pm in the Village Hall. An afternoon tea will be provided and Sandra Robinson’s artwork will be on display.
