Eighteen-year-old Anna Clark has just finished her Higher School Certificate and with barely a chance to catch her breath has already begun rehearsals for the 2008 Schools Spectacular.
Next week the Sydney event will celebrate its 25th anniversary and will be the last spectacular performance for the Monaro High School student.
The event has launched the careers of a host of Australia's most popular performers, and although Anna is not sure what the future holds for her dance career, the experience will be invaluable.
"I don't know that there are talent scouts there or anything, but it does look good on your resume," she said.
Anna walked out of her last exam last Friday and headed straight for Sydney where rehearsals began immediately.
"We learnt three dances and have one more to learn the day before the spectacular starts."
Specialising mostly in ballet, contemporary and modern, Anna juggled HSC studies and her role in the regional ensemble, a group of 14 students from regional areas all over the state.
"It will be hard to say goodbye to all the people in the regional ensemble because we probably won't see each other afterwards. We danced together this year in the State Dance Festival and as part of Education Week," she said.
