Vets support hospital

03 Nov, 2011 08:47 AM
One hundred and fifty motorcyclists helped raise more than $12,000 for Cooma and Canberra Hospital equipment when they took part in the annual Vietnam Veterans charity poker run through the Snowy Mountains at the weekend.

The riders travelled 200 kilometres starting at Bredbo on Saturday morning and ending the day at the Cooma Ex-Services Club. Cooma mayor Dean Lynch welcomed the riders and thanked the Vets for travelling to Cooma, not only to raise money for Cooma Hospital but also to support the local cafes, motels, hotels and pubs.

The Ex-Services Club presented Vietnam Veterans President Dimples with a cheque for $700 as a contribution to the charity bike ride.
