Jarred and Jake Wynan from Nimmitabel played for a place in the Australia Open Junior on January 21.
The duo competed in the main draw, which started at Melbourne Park and were among a field of the 64 best players in the world.
Forty-six of the 64 are granted direct entry into the main draw determined by their world ranking.
Qualifiers, started on January 22, was also a draw of 64 players, where both Jarred and Jake qualified by their world ranking. There was also a pre qualifier tournament held prior to the Qualifiers which Jarred and Jake did not need to play. The top 16 players will make the main draw of the Australia Open Juniors.
Jake, still 15-years-old, played 16 seed Jung-Woong Na from Korea who is 17 years old and ranked 164 in the world.
Jarred played Shoki Hachiya from Japan, also 17 years old and ranked 332 in the world.
Tomorrow, Jake will travel first to Auckland then to Wellington for another two International Tennis Federation tournaments with world junior ranking points.
Jarred has chosen to stay local and travel to Gosford for a Men’s Open Australian Money Tournament instead.
