Cooma Tigers struggled to consolidate in the first half despite scoring one goal. Danny Gecic managed to beat three players, and shoot. The Blues goalie saved the ball but, but Gecic striked in the rebound on the 25th minute. Cooma went to the break 1-0 up, though they were cautious, as they were reminded of the previous fixture against Brindabella at the start of the season. The team was leading 1-0, only to relinquish their lead in the last minute as the opposition managed to steal a draw.
This time the team was missing several key players, key sweeper Dominic and Adrian Labutte and Rade Kosanovic (GK). Felipe Flores and Josh Brennan were sidelined by injuries. Hector Cerda-Cid played with a knee injury, which forced him to leave the game early in the second half.
Pelao” Araya was outstanding as a sweeper. “Kurdo” Serdan was able to showboat first as a stopper in the first-half and then as part of the team’s forward line, where he managed to score Cooma’s second goal of the game. The team’s final goal by Dani G scoring his 9th goal of the season. He is in trials for the ACT rockets at the moment, and we wish him best of luck.
Debutant goalkeeper Gonzalo Cabrera held his nerve throughout, and was in complete control of the 6 yard-box, helping the team to extend their impressive defensive record.
The best player of the match was “El Kaiser” Keno who seemed to be unstoppable at times. Showing masterful skills, it looked at times as though he was playing with the opposition, three at a time. Coach Gabriel Wilk will be undergoing surgery on Monday, and would like to be kept in the prayers of Cooma Express readers.
