Cooma Public set to celebrate 150 years

Preparations for Cooma Public School's 150 year anniversary are underway.

Cooma Public School is the oldest in Cooma and next April the school will be celebrating 150 years.

On April 27 there will be an open day at the school. Staff and students from as early as the 1940s will be attending.

Along with the opening of the school's time capsule there will also be a fete.

Events will include a magic show, face painting, sponge throwing, guided tours of the school and a display of old memorabilia.

Come along to see the other treats we have like a display of some old cars.

Photographs will be taken of students and teachers from the various decades to put in the next time capsule.

Events will start at 10am culminating in a cake cutting at lunch with music provided by Cooma Monaro Band.

A barbecue will be available and the local coffee van will be in attendance.

That evening there will be a dinner in the multifunction centre to let you meet up with old friends.

The school is looking for more photos. If you have any, please take them to Schoo's Studio to be scanned.
