Making Christmas a little bit brighter

St Vincent de Paul Society Cooma received a welcome donation from High Country Automotive Group on Friday just in time for Christmas.

High Country Automotive Group donated $2,500 to the Cooma St Vincent de Paul Society President of the Cooma St Vincent de Paul Society Damian Kenneally said the money would go toward the Christmas hampers.

"We have around 50 hampers this year. It's up a bit on last year," Mr Kenneally said.

"There is a bit more need in the community.

"Getting this donation will give us some breathing space to make some quality hampers."

St Vincent de Paul Society received hundreds of donations into the shop and all schools contributed.

The hampers include vouchers, cash, books for children, toys and some food.

High Country Automotive Group dealer-principal Adam D'Amato said he was happy to help the needy and support the local community. The hampers will be distributed from today (Tuesday).
