Cats on a winning streak

The Cooma Cats Cricket Club continued their winning streak on the weekend with a good all round display against the Alpine Cricket Club. The Alpine Captain Nathan Boate won the toss and batted and the Alpine's young guns looked to get some runs on the board against a Cats side with two first game players and two other under 15s. The Cats bowling was tight however with Wood (3/19) and Reagan (3/12) restricting the bulk of the Alpine's scoring but for some strong hitting from Mitch Clarke (48) and Adam Schofield (40) seeing the Alpine set a respectable 136 all out in the 35th over.

In reply, the Cats lost key man Gary Van Der Plat early however his opening partner Manus Chaudry hit his way through the Alpine's attack and carried the innings with an unbeaten 100no out of the Cats 4 for 138 achieving the required runs in the 37th over. The Alpine dropped some hot catching chances from Chaudry however his lusty and elegant hitting were a highlight for the young Cats team.
