AN inaugural exhibition of senior high school students artwork at the Raglan Gallery and Cultural Centre was opened by nationally and internationally acclaimed landscape artist Imants Tillers on Wednesday.
The concept for the innovative exhibition came from the annual 'ARTEXPRESS' travelling art exhibition which goes to regional centres showcasing the very best artworks produced by Higher School Certificate visual arts students across NSW each year.
Art students from the Snowy River, Bombala and Cooma-Monaro Shires have their work on display at the gallery until March 17.
In opening the exhibition, Imants Tillers said he thought the exhibition was a great idea and enormously significant for the students.
"It is a great idea to make it a regular event," Mr Tillers said.
"While it is a mixture, kids are at different levels, there are some quite sophisticated works here."
Monaro High School art head teacher Alenka Macnab thought it was great to showcase country kids art works and achievements in a regional gallery setting.
