Dustin from Jerangle Public School started his wood chopping competition career at the Cooma show on Saturday.
He took with him generations of experience to come out with third prize.
As a junior it is always hard to chop through the big logs on your first race, but Dustin completed the chop and was pleased he had entered.
"I was a bit worried at first but I'm so proud to have been awarded third prize."
He proudly shows off his ribbon to his friends and family and with treasure the excitement and experience of the day.
Later on in the day he watched his uncles Damien and George chop and chainsaw logs in the open section. He looks forward to his next competition and hopes to improve his placing.
