Monaro High raises thousands for charity

Could there be anything more satisfying for a teacher to shave off a students hair? Or equally for a student to shave off a teachers hair?

That's exactly what happened at Monaro High last week as students and teachers took the clippers to their hair to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation's "World's Greatest Shave".

They ended up raising more than $2,000.

Teachers included Michael Krueger, Donna Needham and Gerard Day had their hair shaved first followed by Canadian exchange teacher Adam Sillery, David Innes and Kevin Regan who went completely bald.

Funds were raised from a cake stall, barbecue and mufti-day. Meat was donated by Frank's Butchery with drinks donated by Woolworths.
