Jerangle Road a priority

Jerangle resident Denis Starrs has called for the speed limit on Jerangle Road to be reduced following a number of accidents along the road in recent months. At the Cooma-Monaro Shire Council meeting last week Mr Starrs spoke in open forum.

He said while the current state of the road was good, it could vary greatly depending on the conditions and recommended the speed limit be changed from 100 kilometres an hour to 80 kilometres an hour.

Mr Starrs also called on council to erect a notice board at both the north and south entrances with information about the council's plans for maintenance and sealing of the road.

He said that as more subdivisions were planned in the area, more people would be living and driving along the road and a noticeboard would help keep the community informed.

Mayor Dean Lynch said maintenance of Jerangle Road was a priority.
