It's fast, it's exhilarating and it is unlike anything many people in the area have ever seen.
It's street luge, and it's coming to Cooma this weekend.
Bomb the Snowies presents Cherry Bomb taking place at Mount Gladstone this weekend.
Local thrillseekers have been given the opportunity, through this event, to take part in street luge.
They will be heading down the mountain on Saturday with training and coaching from professionals.
On Sunday the professionals will take to the course competing in a regional championship race with place getters taking home points toward an Australian title.
Event organiser Tim Gregory of Berridale said the event had been well supported with registrations for the public coaching full.
Spectators are invited to get along to the free event.
"You can expect to see some really close racing from a class field on Sunday," Mr Gregory said.
"We are looking forward to a spectacular weekend."
Mr Gregory thanked all the sponsors including Cooma-Monaro and Snowy River Shire Councils, Andrew Downing from Jindabyne Landscaping for supplying the hay bales, Steve Field, Debbie Duffy from Jindabyne Hire for the toilets, the Cooma Trophy Centre for the trophies and Hip Pocket for one kilometre of caution tape to wrap around the mountain.
There will be defined spectator areas, a barbecue and drink facilities. Racing gets underway at 11am on Sunday.
