Cooma craft club treasurer Jenny Brown presented Yallambee Lodge aged care facility resident Don Summerell with a cheque for $500 on Tuesday which will go towards a Yallambee 'men's shed'.
Yallambee Lodge manager Donna Saddler said male residents are very grateful for the donation from the Cooma craft club.
She said the newly-formed men's group needed to raise around $6000 for a dedicated workspace for the men at Yallambee Lodge.
"There is a men's group at Yallambee and we are going to get either a kit cedar shed or a purpose built shed that will cater for the men's activities.
"They said they would like a place where they can play pool or watch sport on a big screen," Ms Saddler said.
So far $1002 has been raised towards the Yallambee 'men's shed' project.
Ms Saddler said they have a raffle going to raise funds for the 'men's shed' with a major prize of a painting by Aboriginal painter Margaret Scobie from Alice Springs, valued at $2000.
