Benny Thompson is following in the footsteps of his brother Charlie who currently holds the Australian title in kickboxing.
The 17-year-old from Chakola claimed the scalp of Sydney's Jack Boissezon in the super feather weight division at Yass on August 3.
Benny knocked out his opponent in the first 50 seconds of the bout.
Both brothers will fight a little closer to home this Friday when they enter the ring at the Helenic Club in Canberra.
In a rematch, Benny will face up against Tim Goodwin of Queanbeyan who has challenged him for a title after Benny defeated him in Cooma at the Anzac Day fight night on April 24.
Benny expects it will be a tough fight but is confident he will win again.
Also hoping to come out on top is Charlie, 21, who will be fighting in a 4 man elimination. The winner will take home $1,000 in prize money.
Following the fight this Friday, the pair will travel to Thailand on September 22 for two weeks to undertake training in Muay Thai kickboxing.
The boys have trained hard and are looking forward to their holiday to further their career. After arriving home from Thailand they will fly to Queensland to both compete. Charlie will compete for the South Pacific title on November 9.
