AMID a plethora of predictions, betting odds and feverish speculation, Saturday night's election result could be written in the stars.
Well-known astrologer Milton Black is predicting a narrow victory by the Liberal Party's Peter Hendy for the bellwether seat of Eden-Monaro.
Mr Black said the horoscope for Saturday for Dr Kelly, a Pisces, indicates "much impatience and the need to break free from stifling, uncomfortable situations".
"This is a critical time for Kelly as the planetary aspects in his chart are quite intense and he will be particularly vulnerable to much stress and anxiety due to an overall coalition win," Mr Black said.
"He knows he will be politically punished if he retains the Eden-Monaro seat and his value to the electorate will be negligible for the next three years."
On the other hand, Capricorn Peter Hendy's stars for Saturday night are looking more positive.
"Peter Hendy has a favourable array of planetary aspects in his horoscope on polling day and with the Sun and Venus helping him along, his long range goals and life's direction or career aims come into focus now," Mr Black said.
"Recognition and support from the electorate is indicated that will assist him in making a transition into a new political direction. It appears Hendy may win the seat of Eden-Monaro with a small majority."
Mr Black said the general astrological conditions for poll day would be influenced by the positive vibes of the waxing moon and the balance provided by Venus.
"The most important aspect will be Pluto as it crosses Australia's natal sun for the first time for 246 years influencing a major change in the political system over the next nine years," he said.
Mr Black predicts an 11-16 seat majority in the House of Representatives and a strong holding in the senate for the Liberal Coalition, but not control.
He added that 2014 was predicted to be an encouraging year for business confidence, long-term investment, greater job security and personal benefits.
"Lucky Jupiter will cross the peak of Australia's horoscope from October 2013 and throughout most of 2014, encouraging a stronger economy," he said.
"Mining will be steady throughout 2014 with an indication the Chinese economy will become stronger."
However, he said recovery would be slow under the influence of Saturn, the planet of caution.
