Thomas Crimmins has finished his junior downhill mountain bike racing career on a high. The local rider from Brebdo placed eighth in Juniors at the Downhill World Championships in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa on Friday.
Crimmins was up against 53 of the best riders from 19 different countries.
He finished with a time of 4:20.741 and was the second fastest of the seven riders in the Australian Junior Team.
Crimmins was 'stoked' with finishing his Junior riding career ranked number 8 in the world. It was a gruelling course with a lot of pedaling and big jumps but he had been training hard knowing what he was in for and it really paid off for him.
Each country gains points for the top three placed riders and Australia finished in third place out of the 19 countries.
Crimmins is now looking forward to moving into the Elite Category for Nationals this year.
