Turning up the heat on prostate cancer

There was a special Big Aussie Barbie in Cooma's Centennial Park on Saturday as part of a joint project of the Monaro Prostate Cancer Support Group and Cooma Lions Club. All proceeds will go to the Big Aussie Barbie account. Prostate cancer kills more men than breast cancer kills women, but awareness of the disease and its funding are tiny by comparison.

The Big Aussie Barbie which is in its fifth year and promotes awareness and raises money to help fight prostate cancer. Last year over 500 Barbies were held across the nation, raising more than $800,000.
