Do you have a wild sense of humour and have a flair for entertaining? Are you witty and constantly making jokes? Do you have a knack for making people laugh?
Are you just waiting for the perfect opportunity to unleash your inner comedian?
Comedy workshops are returning to Cooma this Sunday and is the perfect chance to hone your skills in stand up comedy.
Experienced stand up comic, Emo Parsonson, will return to run the workshops.
The man who says 'he just loves laughing', and is no stranger to the highs and lows of living in the bush, will again offer local stand-up hopefuls a day of mentoring in the finer points of comedy. All workshop participants will then have the opportunity for ongoing coaching by email, especially if they are working on material for the next Stand up for Rural Communities performances-September 21 and December 21.
Three workshops will be held at the Monaro Regional Library:
Workshop one (10am-12 noon): Getting started, setting your comedy goals, developing your material and remembering it, stage craft and dealing with nerves.
Workshop two (1-3pm): Builds on the first workshop, which is a pre-requisite, practising the skills covered in the first workshop, and fine-tuning and rehearsing your material.
Workshop three (4-6pm): Move your audience from snickers to belly laughs.
Attendance at workshop two is a pre-requisite, so that you have a basis on which to further develop your comedy writing skills.
Book now! To ensure your place, email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Stephanie on 0408 425 430. Cost is $50 per workshop, or $30 for Friends of Resilience members ($15 to join as a Friend).
