Thirty-five highly skilled glider pilots have landed in Cooma for the week long annual 'Wave Camp' at the Bunyan Airfields.
The 25th annual event attracts pilots, and their partners, from across Australia to the unique high altitude 'wave soaring area'.
This means the area has ideal high altitude conditions for gliding.
There are only two other wave camps held in Australia.
The event kicked off on Saturday with staff from the Cooma Visitors Centre handing out information packs on Cooma to the participants.
It is expected to give a boost to the town with gliders mostly staying in Cooma accommodation, buying food, fuel and other resources during the week long event.
