Police attended five single vehicle accidents where drivers lost control of their vehicles, remarkably, all escaped with minor injuries however all vehicles were extensively damaged and required towing.
On Thursday morning a driver hit a wombat on the Tom Groggin Road near Nimmitabel. The driver was not injured but the vehicle was towed from the scene.
In a second accident on Friday, another driver lost control of his vehicle at Bredbo on the Monaro Highway. The car was extensively damaged and required towing but the driver suffered no injuries.
In a third accident, 10 kilometres south of Bredbo, a 63-year-old woman driver from Chakola, lost control of her Holden Astra, hitting a post. The accident happened on Saturday morning at 7.26am. The woman was not injured.
In a fourth accident a 75-year-old woman driver escaped with only minor injuries after losing control of her vehicle which rolled several times on the Monaro Highway near Bunyan on Sunday afternoon.
The vehicle was towed away.
On Monday at 1pm a 72-year-old man from Merimubla lost control of his vehicle hitting two roadside signs before coming to rest in a ditch near M and T Motors on the Monaro Highway.
The driver and passenger, the man's wife, were treated for minor injuries by Cooma paramedics.
