Cooma Off-Road Club riders have shown they are amongst the best in NSW, with a group of local riders finishing on top of the podium of the Amcross Series.
Amcross is a natural terrain motocross series run over six rounds throughout NSW. Races are held between March in Cooma, Bega, Leeton, Young, Goulburn and Picton.
The series kicked off in Cooma for round one in March with many Cooma riders competing against the states best competitors with high ambitions of gaining great results and continuing through the series.
The series wrapped up in Picton recently with the Cooma riders showing some serious competitiveness of motocross racing, battling it out on the track to earn a place on the podium for this exciting Championship series.
A large group of local riders finished with great results.
Fifteen-year-old Jayden Kraft won the overall highest point scorer for the juniors over the six round series and finished on top of the podium in the 85cc 14-u16 and finished third in 125cc 13-u16.
It was major achievement for the 15-year-old who broke his wrist while competing at the Australian titles in Victoria in early October.
He qualified second fastest at Horsham and was coming second only to crash and break his wrist.
He has since been strapping it to race.
Fellow local junior rider Jake Barron took out first place in the 65cc 10-u13 and fifth in 85cc 9-u11.
Barron was happy with his results and said it was his best placing to date, finishing third in the 65cc last year.
In the seniors Taylor Peet finished third in the ladies, Jamie Harvey came second in the 16-u19 Lites, Ben Freebody placed second in the opens and fourth in the 16-u19 Lites and Brad Fitzgerald placed fourth in the A B All Powers.
Mitch Bowerman also performed well placing seventh in both the 13-u16 yrs 125 and 13-u16 250.
Edwin Kraft finished eighth overall in the parents division.
