Sebony has claimed back to back wins in the Cooma Hyundai Cooma Cup.
The 10-year-old horse, ridden by Neil Perryman and trained by Chris Strickland from Sapphire Coast, finished first in a tight field in the $12,500 1600 metres benchmark handicap feature race.
There was little in it as they crossed the finished line with Big Red Cat 0.1 lengths behind in second, and the winner of the Adaminaby Cup, Ultima Chance, in third, just 0.3 lengths behind.
Sebony finished third to Ultima Chance in the Adaminaby Cup two weeks ago.
There was a protest from second against first which was dismissed, allowing Sebony to claim the $7,420 first place prize money.
Sebony also won last year's Cooma Cup and again in 2009.
In the other feature race of this year's Cooma race meeting, the Cooma Ex-Services Club-Monbeef Sundowners Cup maiden handicap, Balinese Boy was a clear winner.
The four-year-old, ridden by Richard Bensley, finished two lengths ahead of the field over 1400 metres.
It won $7,420 of a total $12,500 prize money for the race.
Morshead came in second and Stevo's Regret placed third.
