Casual dress day brings big result

The Cooma-Monaro Shire Council's health and building and town planning department staff raised $300 by holding a casual dress day each Friday, with staff donating a gold coin for the occasion.

This is the second year they have donated money to the Salvation Army to help families in need at Christmas time.

Captain Louise Nicholson said everyone is doing their bit.

"I remember this happened last year and I'm very grateful."
