Nicholas Wassink has snatched a gold medal in the under 15 hammer throw at the NSW Country Championships at Wollongong over the Australian Day weekend.
On a wet and windy day, Wassink found the conditions a bit different than he is used to on the Monaro. But he took gold with a heave of 35.30 mts. The next major competition for him is in two weeks at the Athletics ACT State Championships at Bruce AIS Track in Canberra. He is hoping to be selected in the ACT Team for the Australian Age Championships in Sydney on March 14.
