Sam slams 'em

Golfers found the course again drying out over the last week of golf at the Cooma Golf Course but the greens are still a delight to putt on. The highlight of the weekend has to go to Sam Patricks who had a marvellous one under par on Sunday - not bad for a junior golfer who now plays off 4. So what happened last week on the course?

On Saturday, 38 players hit off in the February monthly medal.

In A grade Col Langdon won the day with a fine 66 nett. from Phil Ingram with a 69 nett. B grade saw Warren Bray (from Tathra Beach Course) score a 69 nett. and just nudge out Tom Geach with a 71 nett. C grade was won by the always consistent Kerry Blencowe with a 71 nett. from Wayne Flynn with a 77 nett. on a countback. Ball winners went down to 33 points. Nearest the pin on the 4th was won by Dave Robinson and Warren Bray won the 11th with a great shot.

Sunday saw 24 golfers playing in an individual stableford - round 3 of the Super Stableford. As mentioned Sam Patricks had a great round of 41 points (a one under par round) to take out the winners prize from Alex Childs 40 points (the juniors are on the move members!!) and Denis Minehan with 38 points. Nearest the pin on the 9th went to Jeff Burgess and the 17th was taken out by Prawit Prakotasung.

On Wednesday a single stableford saw 29 players compete in three grades for the top prizes with A grade being won by Bob Eley with 33 points. B grade was taken out by Simon Allen with 39 points and C grade was won by Geoffrey Glanville with 35 points. Ball winners went down to 30 points. Nearest the pin on the 9th was a super shot by Prawit Prakotasung and Doug Parker was closest on the 17th.

Next week sees single stableford medleys on all three competition days. Of course there is the daylight saving comp. on every Wednesday afternoon so you can hit off up until around 5.30pm. It's a great way to get over hump day. There is also junior golf at 2pm on Sunday and beginners lessons and game also at 2pm Sunday.
