Mike and Abby Lim move on

OVER a period of 31 years Mike and Abby Lim have called Cooma home - and they have run several successful businesses for most of those years. Three of their four children were born here and they returned from Canberra in 2012 to take over one of their original establishments - the Jade Palace in Bombala Street.

They refurbished it extensively, changed the menu, and added some sparkle to the Cooma restaurant environment.

Now, they are moving on, having sold the business to Bobby and Suki Lee, a friendly young couple from Newcastle with years of experience in the hospitality industry, who take over the restaurant on March 4.

While sad to be leaving for Canberra, Mike and Abby are sure their friends and customers will give the new owners a warm welcome.

Since their move back to Cooma, Mike and Abby's two youngest daughters, Fedora and Melissa have graduated university and will be returning to Canberra for work in nursing and architecture respectively. Puiwan, the eldest, will make a move to Sydney.

Their second eldest Erica is in Canberra with her family. Mike and Abby are looking forward to spending time with their two grandchildren, aged 3 and 18 months come March.

Mike, Abby and the girls genuinely express their thanks and gratitude to Cooma and surrounding community for their strong support and patronage. They say the success of Jade Palace has been entirely due to their wonderful customers and valued staff members.

"It has been a pleasure to have had the chance to serve you, your family and friends," Abby said, while offering a 15 per cent discount for all meals excluding special lunch and home deliveries from Tuesday this week, until March 2.
