AN ANGUS bull exhibited by Rosskin stud at Dalgety has taken out the 2014 champion of champions at the Canberra Royal Show's Interbreed cattle judging.
The 19-month-old bull weighing 960 kilograms, Rosskin Admiral H19, was selected as the ultimate Interbreed champion over the interbreed female: St Pauls Red Pear G427, exhibited by Circle 8 Black Simmentals, Marulan.
Rosskin Admiral H19 was exhibited by Martin, Liz and Adam Walters of Rosskin Angus and Charolias stud, Dalgety.
The judges selected the Angus, Fleckvieh, Charolais, Murray Grey and Speckle Park bulls as their five finalists in the Interbreed bull section of the competition.
The Walter's family is understandably over the moon about their win and are taking him to the Sydney Royal Easter Show where he will be offered for sale.
Adam Walters said they have won senior champion and reserve but never a grand champion.
Adam's father, Martin Walters said they bred the bull from scratch and that was pleasing.
"We had comments that this is what the breed needs, that type of bull," Mr Martin said.
"He's got terrific build along with fleshing and ability, such an easy doing bull."
