GALLERY: Close call in Yard Dog Championships

The yard dog trial drew a good crowd at the Dalgety Show on Sunday with the top Open Monaro District Championship event was very strongly contested.

In a nail biting finish, two Championship finalists drew, demanding a run off.

The tied Championship finalists were local Dean Incher and his dog Brock and Alan Rutter of Tumut and his dog Hammer.

Dean Incher scored 94 in the first round, 96 in the second and 87 in the run off gaining a total of 277 points, beating Alan Rutter by two points.

Alan Rutter and his dog Hammer scored 95 in the first round, 95 in the second and then 85 missing out by two points with a score of 275 points.
