Schouten and Rainsford win NSW 4BBB qualifier

It was another great week of golf at Cooma golf club with the NSW 4BBB qualifier on Sunday seeing some outstanding scores for 2014.

So what happened last week on the course.

On Saturday Gary Batten re-found his recent form to score a fine 38 points to win the single medley stableford from Brian Searl with 37 points (on a countback). Ball winners went down to 34 points with Jeff Burgess and Norm Marshall just scraping in. Nearest the pin on the 9th went to Norm Marshall and to Brian Searl on the 17th.

Sunday saw the NSW 4BBB qualifier. Winners on the day with a score to dream about were Mark Rainsford and Matthew Schouten with a combined 50 points. Runners up were Dave Paterson and Denis Minehan with 45 points (this score won the event last year). Ball winners went down to 44 points. Nearest the pin on the 9th went to Mark Rainsford.

On Wednesday, 31 players competed in a single medley stableford.

A grade winner was Chris Brown with 41 points. B grade was taken out by John Alexander with 39 points and Damien Kenneally scored 33 points to win C grade. Ball winners went down to 34 points.

Next Saturday sees a single medley stableford which will be in 3 grades. Sunday sees round 3 of the super stableford competition and Wednesday sees the traditional individual medley stableford with visitors most welcome.

Junior golf is on this Sunday afternoon from 2pm gearing up for the sub-junior championships in early April.
