LOCAL kickboxers, brothers Charlie and Ben Thompson will fight fight for Australian titles this Saturday.
They will be fighting on home turf at the Cooma Multi Function Centre as Monaro Fight Circuit returns to Cooma on Saturday night for Cooma fight night MFC12.
In the semi-main event, Ben will take on Ben Kelly of Penrith for the Australian Lightweight Kickboxing title.
Charlie will be seeking revenge in the main event in his quest to claim the Australian Super Welterweight Title.
He will face Charlie Bubb of Orange in the grudge match.
The pair fought in November last year with Bubb claiming the title, winning on a split points decision.
Fighting in front of his home town this Saturday night could give Thompson the added drive needed to square it up and take the Australian title from Bubb.
The Thompson brothers are trained by Peter Foster originally from Cooma and well respected nationally in the Kickboxing and Martial Arts circles.
The card will feature local and interstate fighters travelling from Canberra, Sydney, Orange and Albury.
There will also be local Cooma Stallions players competing on the undercard.
Promoter Shane Tipa expects a good turnout with great local support and people travelling from Canberra and beyond to be part of the fifth consecutive fight show in Cooma to date.
The Monaro Fight Circuit and Cooma Stallions are also supporters of The Monaro Early Intervention Service driven by local Doctor Andrew Egan, and part of the proceeds will be donated to themy on the night.
The Cooma fight night is Saturday April 12 at the Cooma Multi Function Centre at the Showground. Doors open 6.30pm first fight at 7pm sharp, tickets from Cooma Sportspower and at the door.
