WINTER Olympian Scott Kneller made a special visit to Snowy Mountains Christian School this week, inspiring students with his stories of overcoming injury and achieving his dreams to represent Australia.
Kneller represented Australia in Sochi, Russia where he was a member of the Ski Cross team.
The students had been eagerly anticipating the visit and after watching Kneller in action on the big screen, they immediately promoted him to hero status.
Kneller shared some of his experience recovering from injury and competing at the Sochi Olympics. He challenged the students to keep focussed on their goals and always be determined to work hard to achieve them.
At the conclusion of the program all students were able to get a signed Olympic post card and some lucky students managed to grab a 'selfie'.
"Mr Kneller is very inspiring," said student, Sasha.
"He taught us how to calm our nerves by thinking positive thoughts. He started skiing when he was 3."
Another student Tyler said, "I learnt that there will always be times when I am nervous but I can learn ways to keep calm."
Other students commented that Kneller was very funny, a good sport, smart and athletic.
