POLICE are investigating a glassing at a Cooma hotel overnight.
About midnight police believe two men were drinking at a hotel in Sharp Street when they became involved in an altercation.
Police say the incident involved a 22-year-old man and a 34-year-old man in which the older man took hold of the younger man’s left hand and poured the contents of his beer glass over him.
The younger man allegedly struck the older man to the right side of his face while holding the empty schooner glass.
The glass shattered causing lacerations to the man’s cheek, eye and ear.
The younger man also suffered lacerations to his left hand.
Police from Monaro Local Area Command attended and seized the broken glass.
The older man was taken to Cooma Hospital where he received seven sutures.
The younger man was arrested and taken to Cooma Police Station. He was then taken to hospital for treatment to his hand injury.
The 22-year-old man was charged with reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been granted conditional bail to appear at Cooma Local Court on July 22.
