COOMA TAFE is encouraging smokers to swap their ciggie for a cuppa this Wednesday to raise money for Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and World No Tobacco Day.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics show that more than 16 per cent of Australians smoke and every 1 in 5 cancer deaths are related to smoking.
The cost of smoking is also something that TAFE Counsellor Mandy Reeks wants smokers to think about.
"We want to get people to think about the cost of smoking and how you can save enourmous amounts of money," Ms Reeks said.
The morning tea will be held at the Snowy Restaurant, Cooma TAFE Campus at 10am on Wednesday.
Entry is $2 and all are welcome to attend the event with all money raised going to support the Cancer Council in cancer research.
