Rams dominate reserves

COOMA reserves took to the field confident after last weekend's win but it was Yass who came out attacking. Cooma was able to stop this with good tackling from Neil Schouten, Damo Allen and Andrew Barron.

It was Yass though who were able to post first points with two early tries to take a 12-0 lead after 20 minutes. Cooma were unable to control the ball for more than three phases and this ball control was making it hard for Cooma to apply pressure to Yass.

Yass scored another try to take it out to 19-0, this spurred Cooma into action and with some good strong runs from Matt Crowley and James Ewart getting Cooma into the Yass half from here the forwards were able to get closer with some good quick pick and drives.

After been held up over the line Cooma again attacked the line and this time James Ewart was able to crash over under the posts, Nathan Boate converted and Cooma went to half time trailing 19-7.

The second half saw Cooma come out and attack from the outset pinning Yass inside their own half for the first 15 minutes of the half and after been held up three times Yass were able to get out of their half and relieve the pressure.

This deflated Cooma and when Yass scored another two tries Cooma were like the kid who fell out of the tree, they just weren't in it.

Cooma had a couple off late chances but couldn't post further points with Yass running out 33-7. Points in second grade, 1 point was shared between Nile Lewis and James Ewart, 2 points Andrew Barron, 3 points and player's player Damien Allen.
