Corporate membership now open

WITH the payment of golf membership for 2014-2015 now required the club is making a special offer to all businesses to become a corporate sponsor of the club allowing any nominated employees and their families free membership. This is a really great offer. Just talk to any golf club board member for details but don't miss out.

On Saturday members played in the monthly medal for June. Our A grade winner was Brian Searl with a great round of 71 nett. In B grade Frank McKnight came up trumps with a round of the day 70 nett. and in C grade first prize was taken out by Reinhold Bloch with 71 nett. Ball winners went down 74 nett. with Don McGregor just squeezing in. Nearest the pins went to Cliff Richards on the 9th and Mark Rainsford on the 17th. Longest drive prizes were won by Brian Searl in A grade and Alexander Childs in B grade. C grade was a bit of a mystery.

Sunday saw a single stableford played with Frank McKnight hitting out accumulating a fine 36 points from Geoff Bohringer also with 36 points (a very close call gentlemen). Ball winners went down to 24 points. Nearest the pin on the 9th was Brian Searl and on the 17th Tony Monday took out the prize.

Wednesday saw a single stableford conducted with 25 golfers competing. A grade winner (with round of the day) was Brian Searl with 37 points on a countback from John Hill. B grade saw Vic Carroll amass 34 points and C grade was won by Bill Fasch with 34 points. Ball winners went down to 31 points. Nearest the pin on the 9th and the 17th went to John Hill.

Next Wednesday sees an individual stroke verses par. On Saturday round one of the Brad Bradley trophy will be played. This is a single stroke event and is one of the premier winter competitions. Round eight of the super stableford is to be played on Sunday.

Golfers and non-golfers are reminded that for winter golf after 2:00pm on Sundays is free and for other days of the week is only $10 green fees after 2pm.
