THE wait for a seafood eatery in Cooma is now over with Monaro Seafood today opening their doors to the public.

Located opposite Centennial Park, on the corner of Massie St and Amos St, the cafe is ready to serve fresh seafood; providing a unique culinary experience in Cooma.

Agostino Mallamace is the owner of Cooma's latest cafe and is excited to bring a seafood taste to the town.

"There was the opportunity to put something in place, that Cooma didn't have, until now," Mr Mallamace said.

"The shop was empty, so I thought why not have a go at seafood."

Mr Mallamace has spent the last number of weeks cleaning the building which has been vacant for over 12 months.

"When I first saw the building it was a mess, everything has been changed."

Whether its a dozen oysters that take your fancy, lobster, or even some squid; an array of seafood will be on offer catering for all taste buds.

The new cafe will serve as a takeaway shop and a sit in eatery, with the fish and chips set to be hit.

For coffee lovers, the opening week has Mr Mallamace providing new customers with a complimentary coffee as they wait for their order.
