STAFF at Cooma Hospital held a farewell afternoon tea for local McGrath Breast Care Nurse, Bronnie Taylor, last Wednesday.
Ms Taylor has been involved in the health industry for more than 20 years and will be leaving to pursue a career in parliament.
"It was a really big thing last Wednesday, bigger than I anticipated," Ms Taylor said.
"Being a nurse has very much been my identity and so it was really special, I was so very humbled."
Ms Taylor will be leaving Cooma Hospital to join the Nationals in NSW state parliament early next year, enabling a smooth transition into the leadership position.
"I'm going to miss working with so many incredible friends and colleagues but I'll miss the patients the most, they really do inspire me." Ms Taylor explained.
"I became involved in politics because I saw what patients needed and I wanted to make a difference. That's why joining the Nationals is a perfect fit for me because they put regional people first."
