THE weather held off for Cooma Gun Clubs' June Down the Line shoot, held at Berridale on Saturday June 14. Twenty-two shooters competed in challenging light conditions, all hoping the dark clouds would hold off until the end of the day.
Shooters competed in three different events for the day and all were impressed by the clubs purchase of a new Canteberry trap, which threw consistent clays all day. Cooma Gun Club were successful in obtaining a grant for $1,700 from a shooting specific grant for the upgrade of the trap houses.
The pink ladies in the kitchen, led by Julie Barron, cooked up copious amounts of chicken and sweet corn soup, served with crusty bread which was well received on such a cold and windy day.
Doreen Blewitt won the monthly meat raffle and Mikala Walters won the opportunity to shoot for the cash prize, quickly electing Brody Walters to shoot for her, resulting in her winning the cash.
