LOCAL country music artist Michael John Horneman is set to release his debut single 'What We've Found' this July.
The musician has spent the last three years writing and playing shows along the East Coast of Australia in map dot pubs and local venues.
"Releasing my first single is pretty exciting, it has been about 10 years in the making and I'm finally getting to the place where I want to be as an artist," Horneman said.
Born in Wollongong, Horneman moved to Cooma at a young age and was raised on a farm 20 kilometres from town.
Horneman's music loving parents fostered a passion for music throughout his childhood, which led to further study in Melbourne after high school.
The five years in Melbourne's musical melting pot, gave Horneman the opportunity for chance meetings and exposure to some of Australia's greatest artists.
A return to Cooma in 2013 gave him the creative space to write and develop as an artist, writing heart felt songs about life and love.
The hard work and dedication to inspire people through music has encouraged Horneman's debut release which is all about loving where you live and living out what you love.
Horneman will continue to write and record music for the remainder of the year, in preparation for Tamworth in 2015.
"I'm working towards an EP, however I do have a couple singles that I am currently working on and want to release by the end of the year," he said. The unofficial launch party of his new single will be held at the Cooma Hotel on Friday, August 1 from 5.30pm.
