A HSC information evening for all current Year 10 students and parents on the Monaro will be held next Monday night at Monaro High School.
The evening will be carried out as a 'mini expo', giving students the opportunity to discuss subjects and consider a range of possible pathways beyond Year 10.
Career advice and post-school options will also be open to discussion with representatives from local universities, TAFE, apprenticeship centres and the Cooma Universities Centre.
Convener of the evening, Careers Advisor at Monaro High Brad McElroy explained the importance of the night was to inform students of their options.
"Monaro High School is the biggest high school on the Monaro and so it becomes our duty to inform students of the pathways they could take," Mr McElroy said.
"We would like parents and students to attend so that they can receive accurate information and then go on to make their own decisions."
Mr McElroy has also developed the Monaro Careers website which provides students and parents with valuable information about the HSC, career building tools and helpful HSC tips.
All Year 10 students from any school in the Monaro are welcome to attend the information night on Monday, August 4 at 7pm in the Monaro High Library.
The evening will be followed by an information day on Tuesday, which will involve workshops with speakers from Cooma TAFE, University of Canberra, subject selection advisors and the Board of studies Liaison Officer.
