The Cooma Red Devils had the opportunity to get both sides through to this year's Grand Final on Saturday afternoon with first grade already through to the match after RMC were forced to forfeit the game.

This meant that second grade had to play Hall at Hall to secure a spot in the Grand Final against Goulburn next week. Cooma ran out confident after their narrow one point win against Yass the previous week. Cooma started with great intensity and for the first 10 minutes controlled much of the ball and field position and with that Cooma was awarded an early penalty. Cooma elected to take a shot at goal for an early lead but Matt Crowley was unable to convert.

Hall worked their way back down field but strong defence from the Schouten brothers, Matt Barnier and Brad Evans stopped Hall from scoring early points. Cooma was giving away a few penalties which Hall were able to capitalise and they elected to take an early penalty goal to settle the game and take the lead 3-0. The lead was extended to 10 when Hall scored a converted try. With another penalty just before half time Hall went into the break leading 13-0. Cooma came out in the second half and dug deep on the back of strong runs from Matt Perkins, Sam Hand and Damo Allen to get Cooma into good field position and for the first 10 minutes of the second half attacked the Hall line but could not turn this relentless pressure into points. Hall were a player down after one of their men was sin binned for repeated infringements. Cooma couldn't convert this overlap and Hall were then able to go 100 meters and score. Cooma's heads dropped after this but Eddie Thomas and Matt Crowley combined well with James Ewart and Jake Mcilvenny who had replaced Nathan Boate after he was injured in the first half to stop Hall getting over the advantage line. Hall scored a couple more tries late in the game to take the score out to 32-0 but strong defence from Andrew Stewart and Mitch Doyle who had replaced Aaron Stewart after he was hurt early in the first half stopped further points been posted. Cooma kept trying and a couple of late chances saw Cooma come close to scoring after Brad Constance got James Ewart into the open but Cooma could not convert these chances into points and Hall ran out winners 32-0.
