Veteran golfers recognised

WEDNESDAY August 13 saw a bigger field than usual playing in the 9 hole stableford competition.

There were visitors from Coolamatong which helped to swell numbers. There were two divisions. Div I winner was Jennifer Rainsford with 17 points, Div II winner was Julie Upton with a great score of 21 points. Balls were won by Jenny O'Byrne with 18 points and Lyn Last with 17 points.

After the competition the Ladies sat down to a great lunch and later the two ladies who were being honoured, Maureen Fletcher and Beatie Russell were presented with medals by Beverly Everett President of Veteran Women Golfers Association NSW celebrating their long years of playing golf. It was very happy event and everyone enjoyed the day. Saturday August 16 a small field played the first round of the Phinn Trophy. The winner of the 1st round was Lorraine McGregor with a nett 75 and Val Leitch won a ball with 76 nett.

Due to inclement weather the 2nd round of the Phinn Trophy on Sunday, August 17 was postponed.
