TOP 5: What's on across the region this weekend

1. St Pat's presents Oliver

St Patrick's Parish School presents ‘Oliver Twist’ at the Cooma Little Theatre. The opening gala night is Friday at 7pm. There will be a mainee performance on Saturday at 1pm and an evening performance on Saturday at 7pm. Tickets from the Cooma Visitors Centre. Contact 6455 1742.

2. Snowy Vets Open Day

Snowy Vets are hosting an open day on Saturday to celebrate the opening of their new hospital at 393 Monaro Highway, Cooma. There are plenty of activities planned with events kicking off at 10.30am. There will be tours of the new facility, a sausage sizzle, jumping castle , face painting, pony rides and much more. 

3. Catch some live music

There is plenty of live music on this weekend. Jack Billman is performing live at the Alpine on Saturday night and Michael Horneman will be live in the main bar at the Cooma Hotel.

4. Head to the slopes

With just six weeks left of the official ski season head to the slopes. There is plenty of action planned with the Snowy Mountains Stomp snowshoe race/run walk at Perisher. Head to Thredbo to catch the World Rookie Tour, a snowboard slope style competition.

5. Cheer on the Red Devils in their Grand Final

If you are willing to travel a little further, why not head to Goulburn to cheer on the Cooma Red Devils in their quest to bring home the premiership as they face the Dirty Reds. 

It is the first time in a number of year the first grade side have made the Grand Final and will be hoping for a big cheer squad to help them overcome the most dominant side of the competition. The match kicks off at 3pm in Goulburn.
