THE SALVATION ARMY Family store in Cooma will close indefinitely from this Friday.
“Administrative matters” have been cited for the temporary closure of the store in Mittagang Road.
Communications and Public Relations Secretary for The Salvation Army in the Southern Region could not disclose what the administrative matters were or how long the store would be closed but was confident the store would reopen.
“We are not abandoning Cooma or the region. We will open the store. It will happen,” he said.
“It is necessary for the Salvation Army to temporary close the Family store in Cooma due to a number of administrative matters that need to be addressed.”
Captain Murray said that when the store does reopen it would be “bigger and better”.
While the store is closed, all other activities of The Salvation Army in Cooma, such as community service delivery on Tuesday mornings, would continue as normal.
The doors to the store will close at the end of trading at 3pm on Friday August 31.
There will be a 50 per cent off sale on all items at the store for the rest of the week in order to clear all stock.
Captain Murray asked the community that from Wednesday August 29 no donations be left at the store until an announcement has to the date of its reopening was made.
