During the past 2 1/2 years I have been honoured to represent the Cooma-Monaro Shire residents as Mayor. I always strive to promote growth in our Shire and believe my background makes me a candidate that represents a wide variety of residents.
I currently run a beef cattle stud on the Monaro and am a fifth generation farmer. Previously I have been an earthmoving and spreading contractor, I have owned three electrical retail stores and have been involved in numerous land developments.
Hence I can relate to the rural sector, retailers as well as developers.
I am married with two children.
During my last term as a Councillor I believe that the Council delivered some great projects for the region. Some examples are the new library, pool complex and a new town water storage system. Many other projects have been started such as the Local Environment Plan ( LEP), CBD enhancement, the new ‘Branding’ and the most exciting being the Tertiary Learning Centre.
These four projects alone have the power to change the shape of the Cooma-Monaro Shire and promote growth as we move forward into the future.
So I would ask that residents think carefully before placing their vote and I hope that the successful candidates are likeminded enough to continue the work started by the last Council so that projects such as these can be completed and our Shire can continue to grow and prosper.
