High winds early on Friday morning ripped the roof of the historic Bredbo Inn, 35 kms north of Cooma NSW. Built in 1836 the Inn is said to have been frequented by Banjo Patterson. Power to the village of Bredbo, which nestles on the Monaro highway between Canberra and the NSW snowfields, was also severely disrupted. The roof was torn off about 5am but no-one was injured. It is unclear when the pub will re-open for business.
