Bredbo residents Danielle Bannon and her son James got to rub shoulders with the MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo at the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island held recently.
Mrs Bannon won a competition through Twitter for the chance to meet Lorenzo and go into the Yamaha garage.
She had to write what she admired most about Lorenzo and wrote that it was his never give up attitude especially after losing a piece of his finger last year.
Mrs Bannon said it was an amazing experience for herself and her eight-year-old son James.
They were taken to the MotoGP paddock during practice on the Saturday morning and taken to the Yamaha Pit.
They were invited into the garage and stand to the side as Lorenzo went through the practice session with the team manager and the mechanics.
Lorenzo signed a hat and stubby holder the pair had bought for James' uncle Kevin and had a chat.
James asked Jorge what his favourite part of Australia was and Lorenzo answered that it was kangaroos and then jumped like a kangaroo for them.
Mrs Bannon said it was a once in a lifetime experience.
